Dr Shan Raju
Paediatrician and Paediatric Sleep Specialist

Dr Shan Raju is an Australian trained General Paediatrician and Paediatric sleep specialist. She completed her medical degree in 2001 at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in Dublin. She spent her intern year in Ireland. Subsequently, she completed general paediatric training at Children’s Hospital Westmead in Sydney and is also dually trained as a sleep physician at Sydney Children’s Hospital, with both hospitals now part of the Sydney Children’s Hospital network.
She has worked as a General Paediatrician since 2009, initially at Royal Far West paediatric service in Manly and as a locum paediatrician in Maitland Hospital. She has been working as a paediatrician in the Central Coast since 2012.
She helped provide remote telehealth service to Darwin Private Hospital as a sleep specialist between 2014 and 2015 and established a children’s sleep service for a private sleep laboratory in Canberra in 2016, where she ran monthly outreach clinics for a year. She is adept at managing developmental and behavioural issues in children, including but not limited to ADHD, ASD, Anxiety Disorders and Developmental Delay, using a holistic family-focused approach.
She is also passionate about helping babies and children with sleep disorders, both with breathing issues and poor sleep patterns.
